PS5 and PC patch to fix major bugs
Dead Space Remake is finally out, and EA Motive is already reporting that the first patch is in the works to fix the annoying bug on PS5.
Undoubtedly one of the best games of the start of 2023, Dead Space Remake is available on PS5, Xbox Series and PC from January 27th. While the master of horror has rattled thousands of gamers over the past few days, some fans were surprised to find that a major graphical bug could make their games perfectly ugly on PS5 and, to a lesser extent, PC.
Dead Space Remake patched on PS5 and PC soon
The bug in question mainly affects the game’s textures, which turn into a jumble of pixels thanks to VRS (Variable Rate Shader). While the game is great and the bug doesn’t affect all players, EA Motive nevertheless wanted to reassure fans by saying that it is well aware of the problem. Even better, a patch is on the way and should be rolling out to PS5 in the next few days
Major graphics issues on PS5 – The team is working on a patch that will improve the issue on PS5. This patch will also provide an option to disable VRS on PC.
VRS, to put it vulgarly, is a technique that is often used today, and is usually in the player’s field of vision (front, side, screen border, behind, out of frame, etc.). The problem is that sometimes the textures load poorly and retain low resolution even if the player sticks his nose to them. The result is unsightly and completely destroys the graphical quality of the title. Here’s what’s happening for some players right now Dead Space Remake.
Few bugs found, EA Motive is spot on
Despite its great qualities, Dead Space Remake it also falls victim to several annoying bugs reported by players. EA Motive has also compiled a full list on Reddit and claims to be working on it. Adjustments should not take long.
Among the most annoying errors, some players claimed that they were stuck in an endless death loop, and had problems loading games. There are also stuttering issues on PC, a common plague in the latest productions of this caliber, bugs that can hinder progress, and even some crashes that prevent the game from starting at all, especially on PC.
EA Motive regularly monitors and updates posts based on developer work and community feedback. You can check this list anytime on Reddit. Here is a list of known bugs as of January 30, 2023, which will definitely be fixed in the coming days.

- Stuttering on PC – the investigation is still ongoing
- Endless death loops – please provide your platform + specifications and check that your game is not installed on hard drive!
- Chapter-specific elements that don’t spawn or bugs that prevent progress – the team is investigating, but PLEASE include your platform + features in your report! If you’re on a PC, make sure your game is installed on an SSD hard drive, NOT a hard drive. If you need to reinstall to SSD, select a previous autosave before restarting the game.
- Major graphics issues on PS5 – The team is working on a patch that will improve the issue on PS5. This patch will also provide an option to disable SRV on PC. No ETA yet, but I’ll keep you all posted. Thanks for your patience and help identifying this issue!
- Some players have problems accepting User Agreements – team aware, please submit detailed bug reports, but here is also a simple solution that has helped some players: disconnect your console for 30 seconds and reconnect.
- (PC) shader showing errors, crash, won’t start, etc. – Check that you are installing the game on the SSD and not the hard drive. If it’s on your hard drive, try deleting it and reinstalling it on the SSD. After reinstalling (it’s worth a try if you’re using an SSD anyway), try selecting an older save file than your last save.
- Xbox users can’t stream gameplay on Twitch – the fix is in progress and should be launched soon
- (PC) Problems with recognizing certain devices – a workaround can be found here pending further investigation
