Retromobile 2023 Show: Spectacular Auction by Artcurial Motorcars

Artcurial Motorcars will present as part of Retromobile show, the largest car auction in French history. Priced at over €80 million, this 2023 edition promises to be quite exceptional!

During the three-day sale (February 3, 4 and 5), led by the trio of Herve Poulain, Matthieu Lamoure and Pierre Novikoff, visitors, enthusiasts, collectors and buyers will be able to discover 230 exceptional cars on more than 5,000 stands. m2, 2/2 in Porte de Versailles hall. The star of this sale will undoubtedly be the Ferrari 250 LM, which could reach 20 million euros.

Exclusive models are rarely presented

All three Bugattis should attract collectors and drive auctions crazy. A Type 57 Atalante from 1935 (one of three remaining examples of 17 built) and two sports models Bart Rosman Collection (Dutch collector with a passion for Bugatti and Ferrari, who died in 2021): a Type 43 Grand Sport from 1931 (nicknamed “Prima Donna”) and a Type 35C from 1929 (which has never been modified since 1931 is known!).

Artcurial Motorcars will continue to distribute collectibles Renault Classic and Renault badges the brand consists of a wide variety of models. Manufacturers and coachbuilders offer some exceptional models: Racing Salmson Grand Sport (1929 – with the same owner’s “San Sebastian” engine between 1929 and 1981), Delage D8-120 Cabriolet (1938 – body by Vanvooren), Delahaye 135 MS Cabriolet (1950 – body by Saoutchik), Citroën DS (DS 19 Cabriolet, DS 19 Cabriolet “Le Caddy”, DS 21M29V1, Sahara) and even GSA Pallas (1983)… to name a few examples.

All kinds of sports

Five Mercedes from the 80s, exclusively sports models, passed through the hands of the big makers: A 300 CE 3.2 Liter (1988 – first preview by AMG, less than 60 copies produced). 500 SEL (reviewed and tuned by Koenig-Specials in 1985). 560 SEC (Widebody AMG). 500 (1984) and 500 SGS “Gullwing” (1983 – modified by Styling Garage, easily recognizable by the butterfly doors) named “1000 SEC” after passing through the workshops of Carat Duchatelet.

Formula 1, Benetton (with Renault -RS7 V10 engine) B195, used by Michael Schumacher (not exactly experienced) when he captured his second world championship in 1995 (Benetton won the sole manufacturer’s title that season). This rolling F1 is now powered by a Judd V10 engine.

Great off-road classics, nevertheless prestigious models: 205 Turbo 16 (1987), two R5 Turbos, one Citroën BX 4 TC (1987), one Ford Escort RS Cosworth (“Group A road” 1995), Ford Focus WRC (1999 – Ex Colin McRae and François Delecour).

Forty Porsches (959, Carrera GT, etc.) and more than twenty Ferraris (250 GT Lusso, F40, etc.) will also be available for sale.

As with all prestigious sales, the catalog includes several models with famous owners: Porsche 911SC (1979 – produced by the Almeras brothers) Johnny Hallyday, La Ford Mustang (1967) from ” the Marginal » At the wheel of a Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona owned by Jean-Paul Belmondo and singer Christophe.
