Stats & Highlights | A quiet evening for the Heat and Lightning, the Rockets dig in again

The race at the top of the Western Conference between Denver and Memphis is exciting, and the Thunder are reaping without making a sound behind them. Oklahoma City won its fourth straight, moving up to ninth place in the West and just two short of fifth place…

Another team in good momentum right now: Miami. After beating New Orleans, the Heat have won four of their last five games.

In the end, Charlotte admitted it lost LaMelo Ball, who is still hampered by a left ankle, but the Hornets won after losing five straight. Conversely, Houston is still reeling from its 12th straight loss.

Oklahoma City – Indiana: 126-106

The first lightning flashed. And it was so strong that the Pacers did not know how to wake up after that. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and teammates are off to a 17-1 start! The collective performance totaled eleven of the twelve baskets thrown in the first quarter (41 total).

It will remain so throughout the meeting. Indiana’s zone defense won’t change anything, even with 17 turnovers, Oklahoma City’s players are too good to be pushed around. Isaiah Joe notably scored seven game-winning baskets and the Pacers sank to their fifth straight loss. Fourth win in a row for the Thunder.

Houston-Charlotte: 117-122

This is the third time this season that LaMelo Ball has had a problem with his left ankle. The Hornets player came on early in the third quarter and the score was 63. Charlotte leads 14-3 with a good PJ Washington at the start of the final drive.

Jalen Green, the author of 41 points, throws the last power of 5 points from Houston, 11-3, and comes back to three points with twenty seconds left. Mason Plumlee and Green exchange free throws and Charlotte wins. Houston’s twelfth straight loss…

New Orleans-Miami: 98-124

Like Indiana, New Orleans surrendered on the first move. The Heat start 27-8, the Pelicans respond with a 10-2 run, but Gabe Vincent ends the first quarter with the game-winning basket to take an already 11-point lead.

With Bam Adebayo in good form (26 points on 11/15 shooting), the Floridians dominate rebounds and inside. The gap is about twenty points and will remain constant.

The Pelicans would manage to get back to within twelve points in the third quarter, but it wouldn’t change anything at the end of the game. Miami celebrates its fourth win in five games and returns to the Top 6 in the West.
