Kristaps Porzingis remains nostalgic for the Knicks
Madison Square Garden and the Knicks represent a unique market in the NBA, where passion and pressure go hand in hand. Kristaps Porzingis Voiced by the Big Apple community during his 2015 draft, he quickly realized this, completely changing minds with his style alone, to the point of becoming an MSG favorite.
Despite finding the Knicks under the Wizards’ tunic last night and struggling even more (21 points on 6/19 shooting), KP bounced back for an unforgettable experience.
“It was tense. This is the biggest stage you can play on. As soon as you go to the other side of the love that everyone gives you, you go the opposite way. I’m not going to lie, I miss it… But that’s the reality. What made me think was that I had to realize that this was not going to last forever and that I was already a player.he said on the sidelines of the meeting. “What am I missing? Just playing at the Garden, getting love and support from the fans. I appreciate every time a fan asks for a photo or autograph. I enjoyed the moments when I was injured more.”

Even if he denies giving KP leaders an ultimatum, his every turn is accompanied by boos from the public who adore him so much, and tonight the player still had a twinge in his heart. crosses paths again with the Knicks.
“Can I go back and do things differently? Of course. I was also injured. If I could have continued playing, it would have been different. I was young and listened to what people told me about my career. I didn’t know any more. That’s how things went then. I can only say good things about the organization because I enjoyed playing there in New York and playing in front of these fans.”he added. “It wasn’t perfect either way, but Phil Jackson was in charge at the time and I can only thank him for having the courage to pick me at No. 4 and giving me the opportunity to play in New York.
Torn between regrets and nostalgia, Kristaps Porzingis fondly remembers the good times he spent in a Knicks uniform, even if he can’t rest forever on his past exploits.
“It was a dream come true. I didn’t realize at the time that it wasn’t like that everywhere. New York is a unique place. Madison Square Garden is the most unique place I’ve ever played. But at that time I thought it was like that in all teams. I had the most fun in the garden.”he continued. “If I hadn’t gotten hurt in New York, you’ll never know what could have happened. But I can’t continue to live with this regret. I have to keep moving forward. I am very happy in Washington now. I focus on the present and what is waiting for me.”
