The Peugeot 508 benefits from restyling while new generations of the Audi A4, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class arrive.

Alfa Romeo Giulia (restyling)
Before becoming an electric car, Alfa Romeo Giulia offers itself a restyling. This allows the headlights to adopt a new triple U light signature and thus be in the same stylistic vein as the new Tonale. We also have the right to buy new matrix LED projectors. The grille has been redesigned and the level of the rear lights has been changed. On board, the Alfa Romeo Giulia adopts a 12.3-inch digital display for instrumentation with three display modes. The engine offer is reduced by a 280 hp petrol unit and two diesels with 160 and 210 hp. A special Competizione series is offered at the launch of this redesigned model.

Audi A6 (restyling)
Prototypes of the redesigned Audi A6 tested their behavior in extreme cold on snowy roads near the Arctic Circle last year. Presentation of production models will take place next spring. The main changes will concern the front part. If we believe that the facelifted version surprised China with its 5.05m stretched variant, we already know that the front bumper and side air intakes will be changed. The light signature of the projectors will also be entitled to some changes. Thus, the modified Audi A6 will be closer to its older sibling, the Audi A8, which will be redesigned in 2022.

Mercedes E-Class
Prototypes of the new generation Mercedes E-Class are still moving with beautiful camouflages on the front and back. Basically these two parts will undergo the most modifications, the profile of the model will not change much except for the pretty lines under the belt that emphasize the front and rear fenders. The E-Class will also be eligible to remove the grab bars like the Mercedes S-Class. On the other hand, the E-Class should not benefit from the S-Class’ large vertical screen, which will not prevent it from having digital instruments. and a premium infotainment screen.

Peugeot 508 (restyling)
Family sedans are not a sector where French manufacturers shine, Renault has discontinued the Talisman, and Peugeot will do the same with the 508 in two or three years. Meanwhile, the manufacturer is preparing a restyling of the Peugeot 508, whose camouflaged prototypes were seen in Germany. It is the front end that will undergo scalpel strokes to slim down the headlights and widen the grille, while the new Peugeot logo will take pride of place at its center. Projectors can display three claws (daytime running lights) that require shield replacement. On board, little has changed except for the new, more fluid interface of the Peugeot 308 to control the screens, and under the hood we can see the appearance of the new 1.2 PureTech mild hybrid 48 V with 136 hp. For sports drivers, unfortunately, the 508 PSE 360 hp version has to disappear from the manufacturer’s catalog.

Audi A4
The new Audi A4 with a sedan and station wagon body will arrive in the summer of 2023. It will be offered later in the year in a sporty S4 version (sedan and station wagon). A tenth of the name compared to the current generation, the new A4 will be a few centimeters longer, allowing for a longer wheelbase for more space for rear seat passengers. As for the styling of this model, note the arrival of the bodybuilder-style hood, meaning it sits between the fenders and no longer overhangs the sides. The grille will be widened and lowered to give the car a bit more power. Under the hood will be hybrid, mild hybrid and rechargeable engines, there will also be diesel, the Ingolstadt manufacturer will not be able to do without TDI engines.

BMW 5 series
BMW’s new 5 Series is preparing for its market debut as it continues intensive development sessions at the Nürburgring. The presentation should take place at the end of the summer. It will sport classic styling with a more imposing grille than the Series 4 with its hideous nostrils. The optics will be refined and the profile will still be dynamic with a receding roofline. In the cabin, we should find a dashboard similar to the iX. So there will be a 12.3-inch screen for devices and a 14.9-inch screen for the infotainment system. These two digital elements will work with the 8th generation of iDrive. The BMW brand is preparing to electrify its range without giving up the heat engines. Thus, the BMW 5 Series will also be available in an electric version, which will be called the BMW i5. And like the 5 series, it will be offered in sedan and station wagon versions.

Skoda Superb
Still in the development period, the new generation Skoda Superb is being tested on the open road. Under the hood of this new generation will be hybridized engines. They will be micro-hybridized in a 48V, plug-in hybrid like the current 218bhp PHEV engine that powers the Superb iV. This plug-in engine will likely be updated and improved with more power and better electric range (currently 55 km). All the Superb’s engines will be mated to an automatic gearbox. This will undoubtedly be the last Superb to have combustion engines, with the fifth generation (not arriving before 2030) running solely on electricity. The styling of this car should be close to that of the current generation, with changes to the front end to receive a more striking grille and new sleek headlamps. We’re not sure what we guessed under the camouflage is definitive. But thanks to sketches of this model published by the brand in 2021 (see below), we have information about the design of this fourth generation. Thus, the filiation with the Skoda Octavia will be clear, but at the same time it will differ from it by approaching five meters in length to maintain its flagship status.
