2022 – A RECORD YEAR IN MODERN BUGATTI HISTORY
Introducing the W16 Mistral5 Unveiling the world in August 2022, Bugatti unveiled its latest roadster, a vehicle that combines timeless elegance, power and performance. First shown at The Quail, the Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Auto Week, the W16 Mistral will be the latest Bugatti model to be powered by the legendary W16 engine. With its 16 cylinders and four 1,600 hp turbochargers, this revolutionary power unit – combined with the advanced aerodynamics of the W16 Mistral – enables a top speed of 420 km/h. All 99 units were sold before the car was officially launched.
In 2022, Bugatti further strengthened its engineering expertise and presented all ten examples of the Centodieci, hand-assembled in Molsheim. The iconic EB110, the legendary super sports car of the early 1990s, thus closes a new chapter in the bus-building tradition that began in 2018 with the announcement of the launch of the Divo.6.
Created to meet the growing demand for absolutely unique configurations, the “Bugatti Sur Mesure” personalization program pushes the boundaries of personalization even further, thereby setting new standards in automotive design. This program has resulted in spectacular achievements such as Waves of Light: an intricate hand-painted painting that mimics the reflection of light on the curves of the Chiron Super Sport’s body.7.
All Chiron, Bolide8 and with the W16 Mistral already sold, the entire customer journey in 2022 was focused on, as well as the growing demand for second-hand car purchases. Successful since its inception, the “Peace Passport” program offers service and maintenance to owners of the Veyron and Chiron models.
In turn, the new “Bugatti Certified Pre-Owned” program allows the brand’s worldwide partners to offer pre-owned cars accompanied by Bugatti certification, thereby offering complete peace of mind to buyers. All cars sold under this program undergo a 110-point inspection to ensure the car is in optimal condition and meets Bugatti standards.
As a sign of the incredible year that Bugatti has just had, the brand’s international network has expanded even further in 2022. Bugatti has embarked on a new transformation from a manufacturer of hyper sports cars to a leading brand in luxury – new interiors integrated, a new visual identity of the brand from 2022. Other openings are planned for 2023.
Looking ahead to the next twelve months, Bugatti Automobiles President Christophe Piochon reflects on the past year: “Like all leading international luxury brands striving for the best in terms of design and performance, Bugatti faced many challenges in 2022. an unparalleled team like ours, talented, passionate and dedicated, we have successfully overcome these challenges by creating and realizing fantastic opportunities. . »
The future looks bright.
As Bugatti enters a new automotive era today under the banner of Bugatti Rimac, which celebrates its first anniversary in 2022, and under the leadership of Mate Rimac, the brand will continue in 2023 and beyond to strengthen its leadership position among hypercar manufacturers. sports cars.
Speaking about the brand’s plans for 2023, Mate Rimac announced: “Bugatti will continue to offer the most advanced technologies. As the world evolves, Bugatti strives and will strive to be at the forefront of automotive performance, design and technology while offering the best in craftsmanship. Ettore Bugatti once said, ‘If it’s comparable, it’s no longer Bugatti’: this view of the brand is truer than ever today, and we can’t wait to express it even more in the second half of 2023.”
The 2023 agenda also includes the 1st auctioner February of the Bugatti Chiron Profile9, a decidedly unique model in the Chiron line. Presented as a rare automotive gem, the recently unveiled hyper sports car is unique in its character, design and every detail. Production of the last 100 examples of the Chiron will continue, and 2023 will also see the first configurations of the W16 Mistral and Bolide. This year, Bugatti will also celebrate its rich heritage in motorsport and its historic connection to the 24 Hours of Le Mans to mark the race’s centenary.
