RN MP at Weppes for the first time.
A small political earthquake in the spring: at the age of 26, Victor Catto became the first RN deputy from the metropolis of Lille. after LR Sébastien Huyghe in the fifth constituency, after a duel with NUPES (Ophélie Delneste) in the second round. The surprise came in the first round, with the overthrow of LR Sebastien Huyghe, who had been in charge of the 5th electoral district for 20 years! It should be recalled that the majority of the sector voted for Emmanuel Macron in the presidential elections held in April. On the evening of the second round, all but two municipalities nominated him.
The new deputy had already been involved in politics for several years, in the FN, then in the RN, on the way to the Patriots. He sits in the Social Affairs Commission of the Milli Majlis. Since his election, he has opened a permanent office in Vavrin.

Daniel Hayart leaves, Damien Hayart joins Illis.
Sure, there are no municipal elections in 2022, but Illies has a new mayor since this summer. He is a figure in local political life who left Illies City Hall in early July: Daniel Hayart, mayor for nearly twenty years he symbolically chose his 75th birthday to hand over. He resigned and the council then elected a new representative. The transition was smooth because the new mayor is the nephew of the old one: Damien Hayart was the deputy from 2020 (he was also from 2001-2014).
