Adobe Max: More efficient AI in Lightroom and Photoshop

The Adobe Max event, eagerly awaited by the Californian developer’s creative following, was an opportunity for the brand to present both its new features and its creative vision. The menu includes Adobe Sensei AI-powered features and guidance that targets more social networks and emerging uses.

Lightroom does the editing

Lightroom, the software of choice for photographers, combines a library manager and demosaicing software to process RAW photos. To increase the productivity of professionals, Adobe adds several optimizations that allow you to avoid time-consuming transitions through Photoshop.

Hence, the software is adorned with new features and improvements. The masking tool goes into high gear. More specifically, now it can detect people or objects like eyes, hair, lips, eyebrows, etc. can automatically mask body parts such as to improve and facilitate its processing.

AI is more subtle than the user

Selection also benefits from artificial intelligence, now allowing the user to select a subject, object or background by roughly drawing over it, while Lightroom takes care of refining the selection itself.

The correction tool guesses what can already be found in Photoshop, removes unwanted ones and replaces them with content support. Thus, the adjustment is more precise and allows, for example, to remove the thread of a dog, an unwanted person or a trash can in a photo without going through Photoshop.

Finally, Lightroom comes with adaptive presets that offer adjustments depending on the nature of the photo. Lightroom will automatically adjust eyes, teeth or eyebrows in a portrait, for example.

Obviously, the new update brings support for the latest devices like the latest iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max or the Fujifilm X-H2.

Photoshop is always more selective
