McLaren F1 boss Andreas Seidl is delighted that Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo were able to finish the season with double points in Abu Dhabi. He hails his team’s excellent performance in the final race of the season.
“It’s a great way to end a long and tough season. The team had two points finishes, three excellent pit stops and the fastest lap. It was a well executed race with sixth place for Lando and ninth for Daniel. represents income”. Seidl notes.
“The fastest lap for Lando is a great reward, and Daniel did a great defensive job to hold his position at the end. After a race that showed his unwavering drive and determination this year, we say goodbye to him.”
“We finish the season in fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship. It’s a fair reflection of our overall performance as a team this year. Of course, we had some challenges to overcome.”
“At the same time, we had a lot of positives, including the podium at Imola, and we learned a lot to be a better team next season. Tonight we start the preparation for next season by preparing for the young drivers’ test. Tuesday with Lando and Oscar.
Seidl thanks McLaren F1 partners and fans
Seidl wanted to thank everyone who made his team’s season on the tracks and in the factories. This obviously includes engine manufacturer McLaren, but also the F1, FIA and circuit troops.
“Mercedes HPP has been a key partner of our team this year and we thank the McLaren racing team for their integrated team and the Brixworth team for their support. We also thank Pirelli for their hard work, cooperation and development, which has been vital to the success of our sport.”
“We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the FIA, the race directors and stewards whose hard work enables safe racing, and to Formula 1, which has delivered an incredible 22 racing seasons of great events for the fans.”
He was also happy that the German people returned to the circuit: “For our amazing fans, whose support is felt everywhere we race, it’s been great to see you back on the track at every event.”
“After two years of restrictions in 2020 and 2021, returning to normal in 2022 has reminded us how passionate our fan base is, and we’re committed to getting the best possible results for you.”
“To our fantastic partners, we couldn’t compete without your support and we’re excited to be with you on this adventure. We’ve always felt your support, whether on the road or from afar, and we look forward to continuing to grow our relationship.”

Finally, the manager wanted to thank both drivers and he did not forget that Ricciardo brought McLaren its best results in more than a decade: “A final thank you to Lando and Daniel for their hard work, positive attitude and dedication to the team.”
