WD Black SN850X SSD is capable of reaching Insane speeds up to 7300MB/s and it is equipped with a cooler that allows the machine to maintain its performance even during the most intense gaming sessions, while not distorting the aesthetic of the drive. Everything you need to know about SSDs for PS5
How to increase PS5 storage space?
There are two ways to expand PS5 storage, via an external hard drive (HDD) or an SSD to access your console. However, you will only be able to run games with the internal SSD.
How to install internal SSD on PS5?
You will need a size 1 Phillips screwdriver for this. After making sure the console is unplugged, place it on the floor and place it in front of you. Remove the cover and then open the SSD expansion slot cover. Remove the screws, connect to the SSD and screw. All you need to do is close the SSD slot cover and replace the outer cover. Reconnect the console to the network and follow the instructions in the PS5 format utility to be able to use the new SSD.
Which internal SSDs are compatible with the PS5?
Currently, only a few PCIe 4.0 models can be used due to very strict rules for integrating an SSD. With a heater, we will mention the WD_Black SN850 SSD, and then in the category without a cooler, you can count on Sabrent 2Tb Rocket 4 Plus, Samsung 980 Pro or Crucial P5 Plus.
